Initially titled "Gulabi," the film underwent extensive research and consultation with gender minority organizations like Nilhira Samaj and Mitini Nepal to ensure authenticity. Bhatt's dedication to the project is evident in the depth and realism of the portrayal.

Produced by Vision Entertainment and The Sky Ocean Entertainment, "Gunyo Cholo" delves into themes of sexuality, with a screenplay and dialogues co-written by Bhatt and Hussain. The cast also includes Sanchita Luintel, Sushil Sitaila, Nisha Bajgain, Anupam Shrestha, and Vishal Pahari in significant roles.

The film's production values are top-notch, with all post-production work, including editing, color grading, sound design, and background music, completed internationally in Hollywood style. Notably, Hollywood actor Lisa Gerard has lent her voice to the film, and the background music was composed by Marcelo de Francisi.
