Ishu Shrestha won the title of Miss Newa 1137 as, she overcame 13 contestants at the annual beauty pageant’s grand finale of Nepal telecom 12th Miss Newa 1137 held on 26th of Magh, Wednesday. Along with the crown, she also bagged a cash prize of Rs.30,000 and desktop computer from Infocom Kathmandu.

The pageant was organized by Nepalese Fashion Home at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi. The dresses for the contestants were designed by the 13th and 14th batch students of Namuna College of Fashion Technology and NIT. The makeups were handled by Glamour Academy Nepal.

Alisha Joshi, Miss Newa 1136, handed the crown to the new 12th Edition Miss Newa 1137, Ishu Shrestha at the grand finale.

14 different subtitles like Miss Friendship, Miss Charming, Tasveer Best Smile, Best Skin, Tasveer Miss Photogenic, Miss Best Hair, Miss Discipline, Ideal Designer Miss Personality, Miss Public Choice, Miss Elegant, NFH Social Welfare Ambassador Chief, Ruslan Best Attire, Best Nepal Bhasa and UFO Miss Talent were also awarded to the deserving contestants at the event.

Miss Newa Best Dresses were awarded to the designers Dushyanta Rumdali Rai /  Yogesh Neupane for being the first, second to the designers Anita Kumar Gotame / Suruchi Puri and third to the designers Smriti Wagle / Pramila Dangol.

Miss Newa 1137 being the cultural talent show, it has targeted towards young Newar ladies in order to promote the culture of Newari Samudhaya and boost up the confidence of Newar girls. At the event Ojaswi Shrestha and Shristi Khadgi won the title of 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively, with each walking away with the cash prize of 25000 and 15000 respectively. First runner up was also given a mobile set by kites mobile.
